:or forward depending on rotation? Are there "lift" characteristics with a san blade like we see with an aircraft wing...due to pressure differential caused by shape of wing? Both a fan blade and an airplane wing slice the air to create lift. Both the angle of attack and the form of the wing create lift, but the angle of attack is the main contributor and contributes the vast majority of lift. Otherwise, jets wouldn't be able to fly upside down.
